Gustavian Louis XVI Carver chairs come with either straight or curved arms and have elaborate handcarving on the arms and fluted legs with a crest at the top of the chair backs often in a rose shape. They are usually sold in pairs or as part of a 'sofa set' with a sofa and 2 upholstered chairs.
Gustavian Louis XVI Carver chairs symbolise elegance and sophistication and look great in a wide variety of fabrics although we prefer to use swedish linen. We try to leave the original fabric where we can and they are stuffed with horsehair padding and fabric webbing.
Gustavian Louis XVI Carver chairs are a great visual counterpoint to any room and are very comfortable to sit in usually with the original horsehair padding, fabric strapping and springs which we overhaul where necessary.
